My Dad used to always say “Take care of the nickels and the dimes will take care of themselves.” Of course this was back in the days when we could actually measure things by nickels and dimes. what he was really saying, was take care of the small things and they won’t turn into big things.
But he didn’t, God wouldn’t let him.
You see I was pretty angry earlier today, it doesn’t matter why, but as the saying goes “You reap what you sow”.
Some days I can’t think of anything to write about, others the ideas just fly in, of course sometimes they just fly right out if there is nothing there to stop them, but that’s another story.
Today’s first reading is from Sirach 2:1 – 11. This is a book from the Old Testament and is one of those which is not included in non-Catholic bibles, something which better minds than mine will have to explain. It is about having trust in God.
From the “Something to think about” department: Have you ever wondered if we have been here before? As any one who reads this blog or any of my others for that matter, knows I am concerned with the fact that we are rapidly removing God from our lives. It makes you wonder if this has ever happened before.
Each journey begins with a first step which then leads to a next. In my journey back to the Catholic faith, I have reached the third. I don’t know how many there are, but I know I have reached the third.
