Burying the Dead

Here in Massachusetts, and I am sure around the rest of the country as well, there has been a lot of discussion regarding what to do with the body of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, one of the Boston Bombers. Currently he is lying in state at a Worcester, MA funeral home with no place to go. No Massachusetts cemetery will accept his body

For some reason this fact really bothers me. I drive for a living and spend a fair amount of time listening to talk radio and I won’t even go into some of the suggestions people have been making as to what should be done with the body. Have we sunk so low as a nation that we are even having this discussion? Have we become like the terrorist nations we rail against who dismember bodies, drag them around the street or commit who knows what atrocities to the dead? We are the first to condemn such actions yet there are some who want to do the same thing. 100_3153

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.” – Matthew 5:7

“But I say to you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To him who strikes you on the check, offer the other also; and from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your coat as well. Give to every one who begs from you; and of him who takes away your goods do not ask them again. And as you wish that men would do to you, do so to them.” – Luke 6:27 – 31

God will judge Tamerlan Tsarnaev, of that we can be sure. As Christians, we should bury him, in an unmarked grave with n fanfare, and let the Lord take care of the rest.

  1. Excellent post! I totally agree with the last sentences: “God will judge Tamerlan Tsarnaev, of that we can be sure. As Christians, we should bury him, in an unmarked grave with no fanfare, and let the Lord take care of the rest.”
I do not understand why Massachusetts has taken this position. It is very disheartening.

    1. I live in MA so it doesn’t really surprise me, except when I put on my political hat, then I wonder why wouldn’t Cambridge, where he lived, accept him. fter all they claim to be the most tolerant city in Massachusetts.

Unfortunately it isn’t just MA, I believe there are other states as well.

Thanks for the comment and for reading my blog. 🙂
