Let me continue with the theme of my last post. When I first started reading the Bible I would randomly open it and read whatever was written on the page. I believed then and I believe now this was how Jesus, through the Holy Spirit talked to me.
When I was pondering something of a spiritual nature this would be when the answer would come. When my father was in a coma I talked to him about letting me know what was on the other side. I won’t drag this out but he had told me years before that he didn’t believe in God or heaven. He said when you were dead that was it. I asked him if it wasn’t the end to give me a sign. He never did.
I had asked God about this in my nightly conversation with Him. It was the next day when I randomly opened my bible and the passage that came up was Luke 16:19. This is the parable about the rich man and Lazarus. It was then I realized that my father couldn’t have given me a sign even if he wanted to. Of course it might be he was right but I don’t believe that.
How can I make someone else see this? How can I make them see they are going down the wrong road? I won’t be able to after I am gone. They won’t listen now so God I’m asking you, what can I do?
¶ And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if some one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be convinced if some one should rise from the dead
