It’s happened again. God has shown me that He hears our prayers and He answers them. It may take time but He answers them.
For the last few months I’ve really stepped up my game as far as praying every day, listening to reflections and doing spiritual reading again. As you may have noticed I am writing again. I am out of my spiritual slump.
I’m not sure why I was in such a slump, I don’t think there was any particular reason. I still believed in God, I knew He was still in my life and He had my back. I just stopped thanking Him and praying.
This past week I had an interesting conversation with my son. He has been estranged from his mother and sister for some time. As one who grew up with a strong sense of family I always hoped he would have that as well. I don’t know what happened although I have some ideas.
I have been praying about this for years and hoping things would get better but it hasn’t seemed to help. Until this week. There wasn’t a major breakthrough but just a little one but one nonetheless.
Without getting too deep into the details we were talking about his sister and her husband needing a car. Without me suggesting it he said he had one he would give them one. No charge, no strings.
A few days later he also mentioned to me that he had talked to his mother about it. Just the fact that he had actually spoken to her about knocked me over.
Is this an earth shattering event? No. But it’s a beginning. And it is further proof that my prayers are listened to and answered. The Holy Spirit is working on my son.
Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened
