Let the Light Shine

One of the many things I have struggled with is how can I prove the change God has made in my life. Is there a way to measure it? In a world where everyone wants to see the numbers what numbers are there?

I know what He has done for me and my life but I have no way to prove it. I only have my word. I know if I had stayed on the path I was on I probably wouldn’t be here right now.

This brings up the question of whether or not I even need to prove it. I know how my life has changed and what made it better, isn’t that enough? People can believe me or not I guess. That’s up to them.

I believe people who know me can see that I’ve changed. I like to think they can see the inner light shining through me. There is a light that shines from people who are true believers. They don’t need to go around preaching the gospel and quoting scripture. They only need to live like Jesus. As a matter of fact Jesus teaches us not to do that.

Luke 18:9 begins the parable of the Pharisees and the Tax Collector. Jesus teaches us we must not be like the Pharisees and make a show of how pious we are. As I said before if we truly are pious it will show through us. The inner light will shine through.

“I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for every one who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
