You certainly don’t need to look very hard to see how Satan has infiltrated our lives. You only need to turn on your television. Last night my wife was watching the show “Ninety Day Fiancé”. I won’t bother you with all the details but in the first few minutes, I could see at least five ways he has gotten people to sin against God.
There is one couple who are bringing in another woman into their marriage so now they are a throuple. No I didn’t just make up the word. Evidently it means a couple with three people in it. The problem seems to be is they can’t get a visa for her unless one of them marries her within 90 days. In order for that to happen they need to get divorced first.
Then there is the middle age divorced dad who is trying to bring over his new love so they can get married. The issue with this couple is that the new wife to be filled out his visa application as a male but since then he’s now a female.
And we have another couple where the American male who is probably middle aged is bringing over his potential wife and they can’t understand why his daughter doesn’t think it’s a good idea. I think it has something to do with the fact that his fiancé is younger than his daughter.
And people don’t think there’s anything wrong with this? Satan has his fingerprints all over this.
Now I can hear the grumbling out there. “People are free to do whatever they choose. You can’t impose your own beliefs on others. And besides it’s only a television show.” True but it’s a reality television show and these people are real.
My point is that people will watch this show and think it is normal and okay to do these things. It’s not. It’s against the natural order of things. God’s natural order of things.
We have turned the moral compass upside down. And come judgment day some of us will ascend to heaven and others will descend to hell.
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight! Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine, and valiant men in mixing strong drink, who acquit the guilty for a bribe, and deprive the innocent of his right! (Isaiah 5:20–23, RSV2CE)
