We Will Be Judged

I came across this article in LifeNews today, about a rally at the Texas Statehouse. I think everyone who reads this knows I am against abortion, and this shows what kind of people tend to be for it.

The article quotes the Bible:

34 You brood of vipers! How can you speak good things, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 The good person brings good things out of a good treasure, and the evil person brings evil things out of an evil treasure. 36 I tell you, on the day of judgment you will have to give an account for every careless word you utter; 37 for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”  – Matthew 12:34 – 37

How often to we think before we speak? True, this is a bit extreme, but even little things. How many times have we said something like “I hate you” when we were angry? Maybe to a sibling or a parent? Are they till around to take it back?

This passage is about more than just words, it is about thoughts and actions as well. We need to go back to the “Golden Rule”. We need to live and breathe it, all the time. For we will be judged and condemned by our words and our actions.

“In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets.” – Matthew 7:12
