Some days it just seems like the world is spinning out of control. It gets crazier and crazier every day. What was once considered evil is now considered good. Killing people we don’t want anymore has become second nature to us, we even make it legal.
I came across this story this morning, Court Rules Disabled Patient Can be Starved to Death Against His Will.
Thus, the Court not only held that in Europe, we can again legally induce the death of a disabled patient
who did not ask to die, but in addition, it denies that patient the protection of the Convention against mistreatment.
Two days ago the California Senate approved an assisted suicide bill. We continue to play right into the hands of Satan. It seems that we keep going more and more backwards, that we have forgotten the “Golden Rule”. And I have to wonder why. How did we get to this point? And more importantly why does it seem that no one cares?
Here is a passage I wrote yesterday for a book I am working on. It might explain some of why we seem to ignore what is going on around us. Maybe we just don’t’ know any better. Maybe we see things with different “eyes”.
Let me explain what I mean by different “eyes”. Years ago I worked for my father in the grocery business. I would go to the produce market with an old produce guy, someone who had been in the business for a long time. He was looking at some tomatoes which were graded as Number 1’s. This grading had to do with size and quality. He couldn’t believe they were number ones, the highest grade, saying they were more like number threes. He said “I guess I have to start looking at them with different eyes.” What he meant by this was he had to look at things differently because in this case the grading standards were lower than they used to be.
This is what Satan has caused us to do, see things with different eyes. Many of us look at things with our old eyes, the eyes that were taught right from wrong, who were taught morality using a higher standard than what is used now. We have pushed God so far out of the public square, out of the public eye, that many of us don’t know what is right or wrong, at least not on the level we used to. Slowly Satan has made us blind.
This is why those of us with the old eyes, become discouraged. We see how far we have fallen and worry about what is going to happen. – excerpt from the upcoming book “Waiting Patiently for the Lord”
It’s time to stop looking at things with new eyes and put our old eyes back on.
It is a terrible thing in our morally nihilistic age that we no longer respect and protect innocent human life.
