Let’s take some time to think about the rules the Catholic Church has that everyone hates. I’ll get to individual rules in detail at a later time but for now we’ll have a general discussion. Think about some of the things that the Catholic Church tells us we can’t do. We can’t have premarital sexual relationships, we can’t kill our unwanted children, we can’t covet our neighbors wife or goods. They want us to spend a whole hour in church every Sunday and sometimes on other days. They want us to tell our priest the bad things we do. They don’t want us to drink. They don’t want us to get rich by playing dirty. Why?
I didn’t understand why they had these rules until a few years ago when I really started thinking about it. As I said before, when our lives here have ended,d our souls live on. This is what I believe. Therefore I want to make sure I don’t end up in hell. I am going to do everything I can to not let that happen.
If you read scripture you will see the best way to do that. Jesus pretty much spells it out. “Follow the Ten Commandments”, “Love your neighbor”, “Do unto others as you would have done to you.” It doesn’t matter what version of the Bible you use, it doesn’t matter what denomination you are, these are the rules for anyone who wants to go to heaven.
Romans 5 3 – 5: More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us

Is it not worth a little suffering and sacrifice on this earth if it leads you to eternal happiness in Heaven?
