The Time is Now to End Abortion

A recent article on LifeNews.com about a poll taken by Students for Life of America got me to thinking today. Now I realize that some of you have only been reading my musings for a short period of time, so you may not realize when I begin to think I usually end up in trouble.

The poll shows some pretty interesting numbers, and like all polls these numbers can be interpreted in different ways. The numbers are pretty evenly split on young people who are pro-life and pro-choice. So I was thinking that this could very well be that young people may just be realizing that if their mothers had chosen abortion, they wouldn’t be here right now. image

Don’t get me wrong, we pro-life folks aren’t winning yet, but these poll results should give us some hope. Young people are at least thinking about the issue and are making rational decisions, which is more than I can say I did at that age, but then that’s a post for another time.

One disturbing thing which is pointed out by this poll and mentioned in the article, is the fact that the majority of young people don’t know where to turn when they need help if they want to carry their babies to term. Planned Parenthood is doing an excellent job at spreading their pro-abortion message, our side, not so much.

When asked what resources would compel pregnant women to carry their unintended pregnancies to term, support from families, support from the child’s father, ability to continue to work or go to school, help with child care, information about adoption, and scholarships to help with financial demands were all chosen more than 50% of the time by study respondents.

These figures along with the fact that 58% of young people admitted that they didn’t know where resources where in their community or campus to support a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy who didn’t want an abortion tells us we must do a better job of reaching out to the most vulnerable demographic, college-aged women, and telling them what resources and support structures exist for them and their children. – Life News

We need to do a better job at making sure the young get the resources they need. They need to be educated and shown how they can make it with a baby. We give millions if not billions to Planned Parenthood and it’s affiliates to kill babies but very view on people who are trying to save them. There is something wrong with this picture.

We need to defund Planned Parenthood. Our tax dollars should not be used to pay for murder. If any individual wants to support Planned Parenthood they accept donations, the rest of us should not be forced to support their cause.

We need to educate ourselves and all those around us on what each candidate’s position is on abortion and planned parenthood and vote for the ones, whether it the president, your senator or congressman, who is pro-life and will help defund Planned Parenthood. November isn’t far away folks, the time is now.

  1. Please stop trying to FORCE your dogma-based will on other people’s lives. Planned Parenthood is the ONLY organization that makes huge reductions in the number of abortions WANTED AND NEEDED by providing easy access to birth control and good sex education. The world is vastly overpopulated with humans already; abortions are unfortunate but necessary with so many unwanted babies in the world.

And btw, real pro-life people are VEGAN, because animals are living, sentient beings too. Are you vegan? If not, how can you call yourself pro-life?

    1. Where do I start?
I am not forcing my opinion on anyone. If you don’t like my opinion, which by the way is exactly what this blog post is, you don’t have to read this post. Like people who complain about Rush Limbaugh (who, btw I don’t listen to) no one is forcing you to listen to him, change the channel, or in this case, the blog page.

Actually the majority of abortions performed to not have to be performed. Why? Becasue the pregnancies did not have to happen. I know, I know, rape and incest blah, blah, blah, but the numbers of those are less than 1% of all abortions performed. So your statement that all abortions are wanted and needed really doesn’t hold water, again, you don’t have to have sex if you don’t want to have a baby.

As far as PP goes. I have no problem with anything they do, just don’t use my money, through our tax system, to do it. I don’t agree with paying for abortions, so why should I? You want to support other people’s right to have abortions, then you can donate as much money as you would like to Planned Parenthood, they will be more than glad to take it.

And if you equate the life of an animal, especially one whose only purpose is to feed others, with the life of a baby, I feel sorry for you. But again, you don’t have to eat meat, fish or even vegetables as there are some out there who beleive that even plants are alive.

The population of the world is in decline, we are not overpopulated at all. But even if we are, if we don’t reproduce who will support all those Americans and others in those wonderful European countries who are living off the government when there are not enough people to pay for those programs?

      Just wondering.

      1. So you support gay marriage then? Or do you support the legislation that bans it? Do you support Roe v. Wade? Or do you support legislation that tries to make abortions harder to get or even illegal?

      2. As far as same sex marriage is concerned, honestly I couldn’t care one way or the other. I feel it against God’s law but if one wants to take that chance it is perfectly okay with me.

Roe v. Wade legalizes abortion. Abortion is murder. Murder is wrong. Murder is illegal.

      3. Okay, but abortion is not considered murder in the eyes of the law, obviously. So you didn’t answer my question–do you support legislation that would illegalize or inhibit abortions?

      4. Sorry I haven’t responded quicker but having some computer issues.

Abortion is murder in the law of God, which in my opinion is a much higher authority than either the state or federal government. So the answer is yes, I would support making abortion illegal.

      5. So yes, you do try to force your opinions on other people’s lives. My original question answered, although a tad obliquely. Not everybody believes in god; this is the 21st century and it’s long past time to abandon ancient superstitions.

      6. As do you by opposing the same legislation. Under your criteria everyone is forcing their opinion on someone else, either by supporting or not supporting any legislation.

As far as my believing in God, I certainly like it better than the alternative which is not believing. Read Pascal’s Wager. sometime.
